Clinical Case

Premium quality alginates, when used correctly, have impression accuracy compatible with silicones. They are hydrophilic and maintain accuracy for as long as their mechanical and dimensional properties remain intact, which begins to change as the impression loses water through evaporation.

Silicones have their accuracy determined by the ISO 4823 standard, which sets the maximum acceptable limit for dimensional variation at 1.5%.

Hydroprint is the alginate which, in tests carried out at UFRGS, has shown that its mechanical properties remain intact for longer. In the elastic recovery maintenance test, Hydroprint was the only one to remain above 95% after 5 days. One of the world’s leading brands didn’t make it to 24 hours.
